The History of Hanshin Engineering
Inheriting the business of the former Special Gear Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a company which manufactured reduction gear from the time of the early Showa period (1926-1989), Hanshin Engineering was established in November 1950 to manufacture paddle wheel ash discharge equipment as well as various gear reducers. The business developed steadily, and in May 1973, a new factory was built and founded in Hikami Town (now Tamba City) in Hyogo Prefecture. Along with strengthening the production system in the department of gear reducers, Hanshin Engineering also manufactured its own newly developed products in the department of labor-saving machinery. In recent years, the Company has been manufacturing various products related to water treatment, such as various drive units for water treatment, the Aquarator, various gear reducers for waterway and dam gate switchgear, and small opening/closing equipment. Hanshin Engineering is also developing products for the purpose of automation and labor saving.
